Auto Traffic Exchange - A Traffic Exchange where users are shown websites in an automated fashion.
Banner URL - The URL to an image to be displayed as a banner advertisement. Must be a GIF, JPG, or PNG file extension.
CTR - Click-Through Ratio, The percentage of times an ad is clicked on, based on the number of times it's viewed.
Cache - Also known as your Temporary Internet Files.
Credits - Units to describe the number of hits owed. Most exchanges 1 credit is equal to 1 hit.
Delivery Rate - The number of hits per website delivered.
Downline - The people who were signed up after being referred by a member.
Downline Builder - A tool used to refer people to multiple websites at once.
Forum - An interactive page that allows users to discuss topics with each other.
Frame Breaker - A website that removes the Surfbar and halts surfing.
Hit - Used to describe when a user is sent to a website.
Impressions - Units to describe the number of views of a banner.
LCP - Lead Capture Page; A Splash Page with a form used as the call to action. The goal is to get the user (the lead) to enter their name and email address.
Levels - The number of Referral levels you'll earn traffic from. The first level is people you refer, the second is people they refer, and so on.
Manual Traffic Exchange - A Traffic Exchange where users manually surf websites to receive hits, often requiring some kind of test to ensure the user is viewing the website.
PTC - Paid to Click; Websites that pay users to click advertisements.
PTP - Paid to Promote; Websites that pay users to send traffic to a certain page. Many are not allowed on traffic exchanges or banned completely.
Ponzi - Also known as a Pyramid Scheme, these websites are illegal and not allowed on traffic exchanges.
Popunder - A Popup that loads behind the window currently being viewed.
Popup - A browser window that opens seperately from the current window being viewed.
Referral - A person who was referred by another member.
Rotator - A URL that redirects the viewer to a website randomly chosen from a list.
Splash Page - A fast loading page designed for advertising on traffic exchanges.
Start Page - A Surf URL designed to be set as the first page your browser shows when opened.
Surf Ratio - The ratio of traffic you'll receive based on the number of websites you view.
Surfbar - The frame shown above or below the website you are currently viewing that contains stats and links to continue surfing.
Timer - The time you must wait at a website before viewing the next site in a Traffic Exchange.
Tracker - A unique URL that collects information on the viewer before sending them to a website. Often used to track which pages are getting the most clicks and purchases.
Traffic Coop - A Coop is where you and other coop members give the coop owner a set amount of money, and the owner then purchases traffic in bulk with the combined money. This allows you to get more traffic for your money than you could if you bought it yourself, and you can get traffic from a variety of exchanges instead of one.
Traffic Exchange - A website that exchanges traffic by having members view other member websites. It is also loosely used to refer to the exchange of web traffic by other means.
URL - Uniform Resource Locator; The address to a website.
Unique Hit - A visitor who has not visited the site before, often only based on the past 24 hours.
Unique Ratio - The percentage of unique hits based on the total number of hits received.
Upline - The people above you: Your referer, your referer's referer, etc.
