How do I report non- page related problems?

First off, thanks again for all the great work identifying dead links, etc.

I've received a few reports of members getting 404 errors
when they try to access the site. That is a DNS issue and I will go back
to the host to discuss this and ensure the DNS records on the server are all in order.

I also get the occassional report of the surf bar not loading.
It's occurred to me that if Medieval Hits wasn't a membership site,
I'd never know any of this was happening, unless of course I spent my days combing through server error logs.
I wonder how many people have sites that people have trouble accessing but never realize this
because other people can and everything seems to be working fine?

I really appreciate your help letting me know about problems
so these can be fixed. I know a lot of people (myself included at times)
just move onto another site when they run into a problem
without letting the owner know that there is a problem
and I can certainly understand why, so I really appreciate the time people have spent to write
and let me know when an issue has come up..

Anyway, if you have any problems at all with 404 not found messages or site functions not working,
please let me know and provide the following if possible:

For 404 messages:

1) Your country.
2) Are you using a proxy server to surf?
3) Your browser.
4) Your ISP assigned IP
(if you know this so I can check my error logs)

For other problems:

1)The exact nature of the problem and page where it happened
and what you did just before it happened.

2) Your browser.
3) Are you using a proxy server to surf?

An interesting fact I have recently learned that might be of interest
to some is that if your server doesn't have reverse DNS properly
implemented and you're sending email to, for example,
a list, a number of ISPs, e.g., yahoo, bellsouth, etc.,
will just bounce your email.
So, if you're getting bounces, it might not be due to a problem with the recipient's email address.

You can check this out for your server/domain here:
http://www.mxtoolbox.com
Of course, some email providers, e.g., yahoo,
just seem to bounce everything mailed to a number of their users at the same time,
e.g., this email.
So, if you don't seem to be getting 'mass member' email (like this)
from a site you've joined, that could be the reason why
(won't even make it to your 'junk' folder).

I think some functions implemented by email providers
may have become just a bit too helpful,
i.e., we'll decide whether we think you'll want to see this email
rather than giving you the opportunity to do so.

Thanks again for everyone's support.
It is greatly appreciated.
